Festivus Feats of strength - Bills vs. Jeffs vs. Jonahtan's (sorry only two Evan's)
In the Festivus tradition we will be doing the feats of strength. While individuals will be wrestling until someone is pinned, the Jeffs, Bills and Jonathans will be doing a tag team tournament to determine the champion.

I think we'll have to adjust that to something more appropriate for vintage computer collectors! Sliderule lightsaber battles?

We can certainly modify it. Thumb wrestling? Commodore PET deadlifts? Mini computer push or pull?
Awesome idea, but some of us have bad knees that can affect our balance. However, deadlifts are more of a controllable action. On Wed, Dec 6, 2017 at 2:44 PM, Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

Not fair. How is a smaller person (me, Drew, Connor, etc.) supposed to have any chance against someone like you or Tony?

Even,I suspect that you could deadlift a PET and possibly an 11/23 + :)

Sure, maybe two or three reps. Strong legs from all the running. I could lift a dual 8" drive or an ASR-33. But guys like you can deadlift VAXen and Crays. :)
Why not combine feats of strength and airing of grevances? Whomever gets ranked on the most without breaking down in tears or storming off, wins! On Wed, Dec 6, 2017 at 3:54 PM, Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

Bring it on, I dish plenty and can take it back. But there are plenty of our friends whom I would not subject to public grievance-airing....

People of smaller stature....aim for the kneecaps and groin of your opponent.....people of large stature......stomp on the little guy before he has a chance to kneecap you or kick you in the groin.......response to all public grievances should be "I fart in your general direction" or something similarly appropriate. If they don't like it, tough (insert expletive here)!! ;-) Tony

Careful, we're techies and tend to be a bit literal. ;-) -- Linux Home Automation Neil Cherry ncherry@linuxha.com http://www.linuxha.com/ Main site http://linuxha.blogspot.com/ My HA Blog Author of: Linux Smart Homes For Dummies
