I was unable to make it to the System Source Swap Meet a few weeks ago due multiple work commitments. Can anyone give a report on how it went? Thanks! It was pretty cool! Sellers was probably I don't know, 15 or so? Buyer numbers weren't too wild but it's a young event. Like HAMFests it started early which is painful for the night owls :-) Of course being there at the museum it was fun to chat with others and see what people were working on in addition to the new changes at the museum. There was some HAMs operating a digital mode there as well. They had a crank up tower on a trailer. There was definitely some awesome finds. I am glad Mac84 grabbed the IIcx box because I don't need a IIcx box yet but have a box problem, and glad that Reggie grabbed the Roland sampler because it looks like a pretty cool unit and I am out of rack space for another sampler. I picked up plotter art from Paul R. of the Atari logo. I'm going to frame it. The dumb moment for me was unpacking stuff for my sales table (which came to the last swap meet) and finding all the 40 pin IDE and 34 pin floppy ribbon cables I bought at the last swap meet that I forgot about. I was looking for those type of cables a few weeks ago while trying to image some old hard drives. Also, seeing people work on the SGI 4d/480VGX at System Source was <3 ... My 2nd SGI ever was one of those that came out of the NASA LaRC auctions. I bought it via a reseller and remember playing with IRIX in the garage with the computer plugged in where the old hot water heater was in my parents garage. I guess that led me to getting a job at NASA doing IRIX and Solaris admin work. Anyone have a Sun Voyager bag? - Ethan

It went quite well! As Ethan said, not as many people as at VCF events, but absolutely more than the last syssrc swap so things are growing! I managed to resist buying much aside from some various parts, an HP Visualize PA-RISC workstation, and a Hallicrafters tube radio...maybe some other things I'm forgetting. Spent a lot of time on the museum's PCjr during the workshop and had a lot of fun demonstrating the SGI Power Series rack :) now if only I can get the 4th CPU board to cooperate... Regards - CJ

I stopped by for a couple of hours. In the true spirit of a swap meet, I traded an HP 3000 Micro XE system to Connor for an HP 2100S. Sold two small items, then headed down to Beltsville to pick up a carload of TRS-80, Northstar and Sun equipment. A very good day. Good to hear that it is growing. It will do even better next year. Each time it will grow more as more people find out about it.

Great event. It was a little larger than last year. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to stay for the repair workshop, but did have some time to enjoy the museum again, which seems to have gained a few exhibits compared to last year. It’s a great spot for the swap meet and there was plenty of good stuff to buy! -Matthew

The swapmeet went well, as did the repair workshop! Bunch of us OSI hackers worked on the CD-23 hard disk system: https://users.glitchwrks.com/~glitch/2023/07/26/cd-23-part-1 Thanks, Jonathan ------- Original Message ------- On Tuesday, August 1st, 2023 at 14:10, Jeffrey Brace via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:
