VCF swap meet renaming suggestion and map mistake?
The name, "Vintage Computer Swap Meet" is likely to dissuade some people from coming if they infer that only vintage computers will be for sale. Because LOTS of non-computer electronic equipment will be available, I suggest the event be renamed as "Vintage Computer & Electronics Swap Meet" to be more accurate and descriptive. This is event name that should be sent to the ARRL Hamfests & Conventions Calendar for publication on their website. http://www.arrl.org/hamfests/search/page:1/Location.state:NY/model:Event I have been attending hamfests and vintage radio and telephone equipment swap meets for more than 50 years and the convention is to name the event descriptively and accurately so attendees know what to expect. Also, the map at: https://vcfed.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/05 Swap_Meet_Map_VCF_Brookdale-1.png says: "OLD SWAT MEET LOCATION". This might be a typo, or maybe it was intentional should the SWAT team show up again. They can go there and stay out of our way while they play with their guns and dogs and drones for hours and practice bossing each other around instead of our people. -bernieS

The swap meet will be in a new location (right across the street from the old location). We are renting Brookdale's parking lot. So the price per space is now $25 per space and no discount for additional spaces. General Admission is still $5.

Bernie, On our flyers we advertise it as a tech swap meet to include things other than vintage computers. We even list them on there. We've done this for years. The picture of the swap meet location has been updated and the old picture deleted. Yes. There was a typo and a freudian slip on my part. Sorry for the mistake. Also this could have been directed to me only as this doesn't need to be a public discussion. It ends up being too much noise for people on the list when they are used to a minimum of noise. 90% of the people on this list are not part of organizing volunteers.
