Re: [vcf-midatlantic] OFF TOPIC movie
My wife liked Tom Selleck so it was required watching. Not on the level of, say, 2001 A Space Odyssey, but pretty neat little gadgets. Most of the movies panned by the critics were mostly pretty good, IMHO. On Fri, Aug 30, 2019, 9:50 PM Sentry TV via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

NOoooooooo! That was a terrible movie then and I don't think you can mystery science theater it to improve it. ;-)

Good evening. I found the interview with Ken Thompson on my news feed. Used to work for Digital Equipment Corporation back in the 80s and early 90s before they sold off everything. Worked on everything from PDP 8s up thru Vax 8000s and a few 9000s. Started as Mag tape specialist, worked up to remote service engineer at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. Spent week at Colorado Springs Remote Support. Still have an old Sol20 S100 computer. Built PCs from 286s up to current one. AMD based. Run Windows, Linux on laptop. Thanks for accepting me. Evan, if you're interested I would donate the Sol20. Have a safe holiday weekend. Regards, RandyM. Good evening. I found the interview with Ken Thompson on my news feed. Used to work for Digital Equipment Corporation back in the 80s......
Good answer! Welcome to the group. We have a lot of members in your area. You should visit Bob Roswell's System Source museum if you have not already done so. He is on this list too. Let me know (off-list: evan@vcfed.org) if you want to visit our own museum here in New Jersey. Thanks for offering your Sol. We accept! We have two of them, but our general policy is to keep things in threes in order to have a parts supply. Arrange logistics off-list... Welcome Randy M.! I'm the Vice-President of this group while Evan is the executive director. Please let us know if there are any questions that we can answer for you. We have repair workshops almost monthly, VCF East in April or May, and Festivus (our holiday party) in December. Glad to hear that the interview is bringing in new members! :)
I forgot. Live in Baltimore, Maryland. On Fri, Aug 30, 2019, 10:22 PM Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:
