Re: [vcf-midatlantic] PCjr people - ROM version of 1-2-3 on eBay
I used to have this version of Lotus 1-2-3 in my collection, but I never heard of a cartridge version of King's Quest. I only had the 1.0 disk version with the weird knight drawing. ======================================================== Bill Loguidice, Managing Director; Armchair Arcade, Inc. <http://www.armchairarcade.com> ======================================================== Authored Books <http://www.amazon.com/Bill-Loguidice/e/B001U7W3YS/ref=ntt_dp_epwbk_1> and Film <http://www.armchairarcade.com/film>; About me and other ways to get in touch <http://about.me/billloguidice> ======================================================== On Mon, Jul 22, 2019 at 3:58 PM Bob Aviles via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

It's the installation kit also necessary?

For once something on eBay that is actually "very rare" and the price is quite reasonable if bidding doesn't drive it too high. I believe this version of 1-2-3 executes "in place" within the ROMs rather than being copied into conventional RAM which should allow a larger spreadsheet than is possible on a conventional PC (ignoring expanded/extended memory).
If you are a PCjr collector, this is one of the holy grails of jr collecting. [The others being the ROM version of Kings Quest and any SCSI hard drive adapter sidecar, however SCSI is no longer needed with the availability of the (modern) PATA sidecar (but is that cheating?).]

I do not know what the installation kit would include. I have the manual in the typical slip-case plus thetwo ROM cartidges. There are quite a few ROM-based games for the jr. Mouser seems to be the most common. I have a couple of third-party cartridge games for the jr in addition to King's Quest. All the games run without DOS and begin when inserted into the jr - like any game console. Jim On Mon, 22 Jul 2019, Bill Loguidice via vcf-midatlantic wrote:
