I'm finding this out third hand and late (two months later). Chuck G was a recommended data recovery person when VCF couldn't help with recovery options. Apparently he passed away in July 2025 as stated on this post on the VCF Forum: https://forum.vcfed.org/index.php?threads/sad-news-chuck-g.1253843/ Jeff Brace VCF National Board Member Chairman & Vice President VCF East Showrunner VCF/MARCH Fundraising Manager VCF Evangelist Vintage Computer Federation is a 501c3 charity https://vcfed.org/ <http://www.vcfed.org/>

I read about it on ClassicCMP. It was a huge loss, he was a great source of information as well as a really nice guy. You can read about it in the thread https://classiccmp.org/mailman3/hyperkitty/list/cctalk@classiccmp.org/thread... Huge loss indeed, especially in the realm of data preservation. I never met him in person, but I really liked Chuck, and he was one of the few I really missed from cctalk. - Dave

Very much so. I went back in my gmail history and found severl extended conversations with him, including him helping me out with an odd LCD multimedia controller that docs into a certain CRT back when I was at Pole and had long stretches to fiddle with odd projects. He will definitely be missed for all of his work and incredibly insightful and helpful contributions. -ethan
