VCF East 2020 -- April 24-25-26
Personally very glad to see the late April date. This year the May date conflicted with picking my son up at college. Time to think about a booth idea! Thanks. - Glenn On Sat, Oct 5, 2019, 12:08 AM Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

I would like to also mention to everyone to book your hotel rooms early. The New Jersey Marathon is that weekend and there will likely be many people booking hotels that weekend. We purposely pushed to announce the date super early this year to accomodate people that need to plan far in advance. And we also pushed out of May which tends to drive the hotel prices up. The marathon must explain why the rates for rooms are MUCH higher than I have ever seen them. Disappointing. On Mon, Oct 7, 2019 at 12:24 AM Jeffrey Brace via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Supply and demand... damn runners. ;) I'm signing up for the Coastal Delaware Marathon, which is the Sunday before our show, just like NJ was last spring. This will be my fourth one. On Mon, Oct 7, 2019, 8:51 AM Chris Fala via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Sorry that the rates are high. We do our best to pick a date that works for most people. It's a difficult and busy time of year. Pushing it earlier in April conflicts with Easter/Passover and late March is VCF PNW. Maybe next year we can also take into account the marathon.

No apologies needed jeff, there’s never going to be a good time, there’s only the best time we could arrange given the circumstances. Go too early and bad weather really becomes a factor, as we already know all too well. Go too late and it’s summertime and all the problems that go with that. We make the best of what we have to work with. Thank you for getting the dates set and announced in a timely fashion, it’s a big first step towards making this event realize it’s full potential!!
