Altair 8800 50th birthday...
Based on what I have read, along with a few discussions I have had with people involved in the early S-100 "scene" around now is the 50th birthday (or conception day) of the Altair 8800.Certainly, next year could properly be called its 50th birthday.Anyway, I'm thinking about "painting the show blue" with Altairs and IMSAIs for the next few vintage computer festivals. Anyone else interested? Bill S. -- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. www.avast.com

I love em': http://q7.neurotica.com/Oldtech/VCF-East2012/ You may remember, Bill, that my CT64 was a bit flaky back then. It is fixed and rock solid now. Bill S. -- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. www.avast.com

I would very much enjoy seeing Altairs, IMSAIs, and SWTPC kit celebrated next year. I know for sure people would enjoy having the opportunity to get hands on with a front panel, see what they're all about on such an important machine like an 8800 or 8080. Regardless, it's something that could stand a few examples of from multiple exhibitors, each putting their own flair on it, if they are both willing and able. Seeing photos of VCF East VIII (one I was unable to attend) reminds me of why I try so hard to be at so many of these events. So many cool exhibits I missed... -Alexander 'Z' Pierson On Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 03:39:15 PM EDT, William Sudbrink via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote: On 4/25/2024 3:36 PM, William Sudbrink wrote:
