A most interesting find!
Actually finds would be more appropriate. I was cleaning out my garage and I came one box hidden in the back, behind the usual debris, forgotten. Upon opening it I am greeted by my first computer, my modified Atari 800XL with 256K and Omnimon. I thought I lost it or gave it to The museum. With it I've found 2 1050 drives and an 810 drive. Now that made me feel good. But there's more ... My SPO256 Talker board, a Peripheral Technologies PT-68K board, A modified Atari 520ST (with 2.5M of DRAM), an Atari 850 interface and a WD 1001-05 interface board. There are more things but I haven't really looked and I have more boxes. The return of my Atari 800XL really makes me happy! -- Linux Home Automation Neil Cherry ncherry@linuxha.com http://www.linuxha.com/ Main site http://linuxha.blogspot.com/ My HA Blog Author of: Linux Smart Homes For Dummies

I'll see what I can do, need to make sure everything is working. The note books are a bit spooky. When I first started it was easier to take notes then transfer to the computer. Tapes and cassette players were not very reliable. Spookier is that the note book is so neet. -- Linux Home Automation Neil Cherry ncherry@linuxha.com http://www.linuxha.com/ Main site http://linuxha.blogspot.com/ My HA Blog Author of: Linux Smart Homes For Dummies
I'd love to do an Atari exhibit for thier 40th anniversary in 2019. Atari 800 was my second computer after the TRS-80 Model I. I did a lot more programming for that Atari, I think because it was more "fun". Color graphics, sound, a serial port and four memory mapped joystick ports. My friend and I wrote a two-player Battleship game in BASIC that you could play via modem. Fun times. Sounds like a good idea. I we should work together. I've got a 600xl, 800xl and an 800 I can work with. Unfortunately I only have the one Commodore monitor. But while finding my Atari 800XL I did find the TV box and cables. They really look new (shocking). I have some disks still but I really want to get the Pi2SIO setup. -- Linux Home Automation Neil Cherry ncherry@linuxha.com http://www.linuxha.com/ Main site http://linuxha.blogspot.com/ My HA Blog Author of: Linux Smart Homes For Dummies
sounds like we have a similar background, Dean! The TRS-80 Model I was my first computer, followed by the Atari 800. (then the ST). Randy
