Re: [vcf-midatlantic] VCF East 2021 Pay Per View Recommendations - Take 2
Here is my ask to membership: 1. First, have you held your own Live PPV/Streaming event and do you have a strong recommendation for a service that worked well? 2. Given that VCF East will have a Live Stream of the event Speakers (-not- exhibits like in 2020) Sat. and Sun. - would you pay any amount to view it live? 3. If you would pay some amount to view it live, what amount would be low enough? $5, $10, $20, more? This will help set the cost. Note that post-show the speaker presentations will be edited and posted for free on the VCF YouTube channel as they always have been. The cost is only for viewing the live stream on the Sat and Sun show days. -andy
Hi, Andrew, Probably the best I could do would be $25. Lower is always better but I also want to contribute to help recoup costs and encourage future growth. Regarding services, most I've seen are either Facebook or Zoom streams. I know there are a number of others out there but haven't had any experience with them. Not being a cheapskate, but I probably wouldn’t pay for the immediacy of watching it live. It’s unlikely that I would be able to watch it live anyway. On the other hand, it’s a way to support the organization and the show, so from that view I might be willing to pay a small amount ($10). Randy Sent from my iPad

Oh and I forgot to mention - the Live viewers would also be invited to the VCF discord channels in order to participate 'live' with others who choose to hop into the channels. This would be similar to what happened in 2020. We would try to get the speakers to hop in afterwards, but that may not be possible as they will be talking to people at the show. And it may be hours after the speaking event. There may be some extra 'live' streaming of the exhibitors and the general show (like a slow walk-thru live, but this isn't guaranteed unless there was a positive response here from people who wanted this extra stream. -andy
