I say yes! You never know when it can come in handy for future projects. -Ian L. On Fri, Feb 10, 2023 at 10:31 Martin Flynn via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Looks like it covers 1Hz to 1GHz. I'd recommend getting it for testing radio and other RF circuitry, especially if it comes cheap or free. Jeff Salzman On Fri, Feb 10, 2023, 10:30 AM Martin Flynn via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Keep in mind this is a cellular comm analyzer, not a piece of general-purpose RF lab equipment. They're all the rage in the ham crowd, which I just don't get...but, predictably, they're best at what they were designed for: cellular comm system design. -Dave On 2/10/23 11:21, Jeff S via vcf-midatlantic wrote:

According to online resources, it has all the capabilities of an HP 8920B RF Service Monitor PLUS the CDMA features. So just don't use the CDMA features and it's still a regular service monitor which can take up to 100W RF input if so equipped. My mistake, my brain autocorrected 8924 to 8922! Yes, the 8924 is a general-purpose (though "service grade" ;)) instrument that's very flexible. The 8922 is not. (I still have an 8922 from my cellular development days...free for pickup if you're interested!) -Dave On 2/10/23 17:17, Jeff S wrote:
