How the RESISTORS Put Computing into 1960s Counter-culture
I'm happy that Claude is still remembered. How the RESISTORS Put Computing into 1960s Counter-culture Teenage nerds in New Jersey were hacking before the PC and the Internet https://spectrum.ieee.org/teenage-hackers
And for those who don’t know, the museum’s PDP 8 was donated to MARCH in 2008 by Claude. I have pictures here from that day: https://vintagecomputer.net/browse_thread_record.cfm?id=158 <https://vintagecomputer.net/browse_thread_record.cfm?id=158&tid=1> I plan to get that book, thanks. Claude used to come to the events at InfoAge. I went to the memorial for him. I met and chatted with Ted Nelson. I remember Herb being there. I have photos but I can't access them at this moment. I too am going to get the Book. On Fri, Dec 19, 2025, 5:53 AM Bill Degnan via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

A photographer called asking about coming to see the PDP-8 and taking pictures for this book, but she found pictures elsewhere and didn't bother coming. She lived in NYC and didn't have a car and would have taken the train. I guess it was too much trouble for her. In any case it's nice that the book was written because it's important history and important local history as well.
