One of the things I`d love to write in my spare time (ha!) is a webfora 
<-> email <-> nntp gateway.

Moving the data around between different protocols is the easy part. 
Rationalizing the message threading and presenting a consistent view of 
such through all interfaces would probably drive me to drink.

I'm a member of two organizations who I think would find value in such 
a tool...I can't imagine that the entire market for such a thing is 2, but 
probably.  This is why it rolls around in my head as a pet project with no 
actual code written anywhere...
