I am one of those benighted few who has signed up for the digest version, and I think it's a good thing I did, because so far I've been getting as many as three or four digests a day, though admittedly those are mostly full of test messages.
Every digest to date has shown up in my iPhone mail client as a list of MIME attachments, over 90% of which need to be individually downloaded before it will open them. Lately, almost all of those individual messages have shown up with the notice "this message has no content." I believe that of the ten messages in the digest this message is a reply to, only three actually displayed correctly. Some of that is undoubtedly due to defects in the crappy Apple mail reader, but since I do almost all of my email from there, it remains a significant data point, at least to me.
While I'm on the subject, does anyone know of an iPhone mail client that is as user-friendly as the Crapple one but actually works properly from a vintage computing perspective? So far my only alternative is the Gmail client, which works well on the iPad but is awkward as hell on my phone because I have multiple Google accounts.
