I did the same software setup. Though there was a turnkey light debian
version that boasted a fast boot
talked about in the instructions, I wanted the whole Jessie distribution
so that things weren't
missing that I have come to expect... to avoid those "you can't get
there from here" scenarios.
Don't neglect the PiDP8 forum, some good experience information is
posted there.
Noteworthy is a mod to make the lights more realistic which I want to
try soon.
