We could paint it black, install our own mirrors, possibly install LED 
lights (most of the lighted cases I saw online only have a single set of 
bulbs on top, which wouldn't do much for artifacts on lower shelves).

So basically our minimum requirements are a solid frame with adjustable 
shelves (we could install our own shelves, too, as long as the frame has 
hardware for it), doors, and it can't be some beat-up POS.
