[vcf-midatlantic] OT (maybe WAY OFF topic)

Just the other day I decided to give this Go game a shot, since pokémon has been something I've enjoyed since it hit American shores in '98. It's a buggy ARG, but it is kinda fun. If it weren't the dead if summer in Virginia, I would probably be walking around more to make the most of the experience. For someone like me, it's letting me play out something I've enjoyed for most of my life.
I still find myself carrying an original Gameboy (or more recently the Japanese exclusive Gameboy Light) with a copy of Red version from time to time. Then again I happen to be in the age range that pokémon targeted when it was released. I watched the poorly animated/dubbed TV show, collected the early era of cards -- I've even been known to cosplay at anime conventions as one of the stock bad guy grunts, Team Rocket.
Side note, it's not dog fighting, it's Japanese beetle collecting and fighting -- something kids don't exactly participate in here.
While I await work to begin at the workshop, I'm going to see if I can catch something.
