And if you're going to make the trip out there, be sure to check out
the Extension Cord Hall of Fame in Chesterfield, Missouri. See all the
wonderful weird and rare extension cords, power strips, and multi
outlet adapters dating back to the early days of electricity! The gift
shop is the best, and they have this really awesome key chain made
from a real electrical plug. Uh... don't actually plug it in though,
the ring is electrically connected to the prongs. Learned that one the
hard way.
Note that this museum only covers American cords - the International
one is in Walla Walla Washington. I hope to see that some day too, if
I do, it'll be one hell of a road trip, and I'll be sure to include
the rest of the amazing attractions along the way. I've always wanted
to see the world's largest staple remover (147 feet tall!) and the
History of Matches Museum (located directly between the self serve
hydrogen gas store, and the fireworks factory)
