This looks/sounds like a really awesome machine -- especially now that the documentation has turned up! It stands an excellent chance of living again with the original design documents, assuming the builder kept good/accurate notes.
I'd pick it up if I wasn't in the middle of three or four vintage computer projects, especially with the XT-IDE rev 3 boards arriving soon...
