As Ian said they are not compatible. I have several variations (3.5" & 5.25") of the syquest drives and they still work to this day. In my experience the 3.5" carts were somewhat more reliable, but I'm sure mileage will vary based on individual use. Obviously some cartridges have died over the decades but overall they've proven fairly reliable for me.....not that I use them for archiving anymore but they're great for moving files between machines that don't have a 10baseT connection (and oh so much faster than phonenet network!)
A viable Zip drive replacement/stand in if your zips are busy on other machines.
