  They do; standard EP-S cartridges like all Canon SX-engine-based
printers  (LaserJet Series-II, -III..)  The engine is modified to do
400DPI, but there are no cartridge differences.

  They use DE9<->DE9 cables but I don't recall if they're 1:1 connected
or not.
