Maybe, if it's strong enough, can be painted opaque, can be locked, and
can be found in the right size.

Yes. Visitors will be able to touch different parts of the screen and
get more information about artifacts. I tested 20 kiosk apps and found
one that's perfect. Then I made a sample web page. It works great. It's
locked down out the wazoo and is very reliable. The software part is
done, now I just need a way to install the hardware.
