I have some sorta "red" Merlin Legend PCMCIA card that is for upgrading 
the system to a later version. IIRC they're SRAM cards?

I'm not sure if it would work but the cards are technically IDE (there are 
those CF card to PCMCIA that are just straight through wires, so I'd 
assume you could go PCMCIA to IDE with just straight through wires.)

So if you could get one physically wired to a linux host you should be 
able to DD the card?
