Anything's obtainable as long as you're willing to pay -- and for a large
enough run it's even reasonably priced. For example, I'm currently working
with a US-based custom rubber parts manufacturer on new tension bands for
QIC tapes. Price will be very reasonable but you have to buy 5K-10K at a
time if it's an on-shelf item, or 100K at a time if it winds up being
custom.
It's one of those things where emulation is almost always the cost
effective measure, once existing supplies have run out.
