Ribbons for most common dot-matrix printers are still made and are
readily available.

I hear lots of people saying they're not available anymore, probably
only based on assumptions, but I've purchased ribbons for a lot of
impact printers over the past few years. I even found DEC LA34 ribbons
a few weeks ago and am about to order a few.

In fact this applies to a great many things that people assume are
somehow unavailable because they've not personally purchased them for
many years. A good example is MMJ connectors. I bought 100 new MMJ
connectors from a cabling supplier (not a surplus dealer!) a few weeks
ago. They actually showed up, and they're actually the right thing.

It pleases me to no end that we can actually still get a lot of the
supplies we need to keep our stuff running.
