It's basically about a misunderstanding on the effects of heat and aging. A
lot of hobbyists are interested in finding ways to prolong the life of
decades computer systems, with their chips, caps drying out, etc..  He
argues that the failure isn't poor design or heat, but the shock of turning
on a chip that breaks it .
