I emailed him a little while ago. Waiting to hear back.

The last year or two he's wanted to do either historical stuff or 
far-out tech stuff, neither of which fits into why people buy tickets 
for Friday, and he didn't like it a couple of years ago when I had to 
say 'no' to his idea.
