  No, that's "ex".  The ex editor was later extended with a "visual"
mode, which is run when ex is invoked as "vi", by looking at argv[0].
The visual mode is the full-screen mode that everyone is used to.

  And the 3B1 runs System V release 2, with some minor BSD extensions.
It's not a particularly "early" UNIX.
