Search on the model to see if it has know problems specific to it. If you
are wanting to preserve the contents have a plan to back it up if it does
work since it may not for long. Especially for loose drives check for
physical damage. I haven't had cap problems but have seen other have.
If nothing obvious wrong I normally power it up and see whats up.
