[vcf-midatlantic] Old TV knocks out internet for entire village

It’s crazy that we should all have to be expected to toss perfectly functional equipment so that broadband won’t be interfered with. They really need to come up with a solution that doesn’t require mass consumer waste.

Cable network allows some of the RF spectrum to return for the upstream of
cable modems. So the TV might of been connected to the cable system, and
when on it was generating noise that was taking out the "upstream" from
customers moderms to the CMTS.
I would imagine the story hypes it a bit, and only people on a single node
were bumped offline. Not the entire community. Not unless it was some
kinda bug that turned into a DDoS or something?
