All –
While moving things around in the shop, I found a US-badged Memotech MTX512 I bought a few years ago. That got me thinking about playing with and expanding it. The floppy FDX units are pretty rare so I thought about re-making the interface card inside to connect floppy drives or a Gotek to it. However, what I can’t seem to locate on Primrosebank (http://www.primrosebank.net/computers/mtx/mtxmanuals.htm#hardware) is a schematic for the actual guts of the FDX unit. I can find the RS-232/floppy card (really a bus buffer), but not the inner-workings of the FDX itself. There’s a picture or two here (http://www.nyangau.org/memotech/hardware.htm) but no schematics for either the bus interface card or the controller card itself. Looks like it uses a weird kind of expansion bus cage. Maybe the later SDX version is the same, but not sure.
Anyway, if there’s someone on-list with Memotech experience and can point me in the right direction, it’d be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Rich
