If I may pipe in from out here in the frozen midwest, let me say
"YES".  It is worth doing.  I think small user group newsletters are
as worthy of preservation as anything else, but that's just my thing.
Others have different priorities and that's fine. But it's worth the
effort to route certain items to those most interested in working on
them.

Now, feasibility is another matter. Storage isn't free. Time isn't
free.  And as others have pointed out, scanning things (properly!) is
WORK.  No matter how passionate I am about preserving nearly
everything I come across, that does nothing to increase my free time
or productivity.  My family is tired of the banker boxes everywhere.
I get it!

Anyway, if there are things at risk of disposal that can't be saved
any other way out East, we've got space here near Chicago for storage
and, eventually, scanning.
