I dedicated this episode of my Youtube channel to Dave’s memory:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wo-mPpnD0K0&list=PLOW4_Hp8_912j1Tzu-zN40mpz4OEVzaFH&index=42 <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wo-mPpnD0K0&list=PLOW4_Hp8_912j1Tzu-zN40mpz4OEVzaFH&index=42>
Feel free to share the playlist with anyone you think may be interested in the content. I make it primarily for myself, to get ideas out of my head and practice video editing skills.
The global chip shortage has made it difficult for retro hardware makers to source working programmable sound generator chips such as the AY series, and continue supplying modern versions of legacy hardware.
Modern replacements often do not give 100% functional compatibility with features of the older chips, which were exploited in interesting ways by developers to achieve desired effects.
