It goes both ways: hams were early adopters of home computers
starting with the Altair and Imasi.
Some pioneered packeteering and slow-scan TV that way.
Radio Electronics magazine showcased early D-I-Y computers,
competing with Popular Electronics, Nuts And Volts, and Byte.

I've attended hamfests and found about 1/4 computer stuff
