[vcf-midatlantic] OT: WTB: 27" iMac

A refurb'ed (or new) mini is IMHO your best bet. ARM- even the M1 chip is amazing if you are coming from any Intel powered mac. My M1 Air still can trounce any intel mac from 2015- up to the last Intel.

Then a decent LCD - OR you may even be able to the old imac as the display:

Oh maybe not- that looks like it _won't_ work for any recent ARM Macs...I included it here cause it was interesting.


At this point I wouldn't buy any Intel Mac unless it was basically given away, support is dropping all over the place for the latest OS and it will be gone completely soon (from Intel Macs).

I do think those large 27" Intel iMacs can run Ubuntu very nicely, I have it on my 2015 and it's very nice and stable.... but if you have actual hardware issues that may be a moot point.
