I’ve heard this complaint before, “There’s too much Commodore at VCF East”.
That is a misperception. Look back at all the speakers from the last few
years and count how many are Commodore and how many are not. There are many
more that are not Commodore.
2024: 18 talks, 2 about Commodore. That’s 11%
2023: 19 talks, 2 about Commodore, That’s 10%
2022: 18 talks, 6 about Commodore. That’s 33%.
2021: 10 talks, 2 about Commodore. That’s 20%
You are misperceiving because they are more prominent.
I do my best to find speakers that are popular. They come from many
companies. Sometimes speakers are not available, not willing or don’t
remember anything.
If you want to help me find speakers, then step up. It takes a lot of time,
money and effort to find good speakers, ready willing and able.
Do you have an IBM speaker to refer me? Send me their contact info and I
will invite. We have one slot left.

Even if you are talking about exhibits, then there has been a good showing
of non-Commodore. I don’t have the time to calculate those percentages.
I’ve already got enough on my plate organizing the show with too little
volunteers helping to organize.
