You got me now - lol.   I think, going by the time, it would have been

 In the early 80s he worked with OSI and had a presentation (probably not
about OSI) at that time. I chatted with him a bit on Sunday morning; the
one I am remembering still had OSI as a hobby and knew of an OSI group.
When the video is released, at least then I will know if I am remembering
the right person - lol.
