Hello everyone,
I appreciate all the feedback. No matter the flavor. It's nice that there
is some passion and feedback. I would have been disappointed if there were
no responses. Some say that I never should have done this because it opens
up a can of worms to 100 people with 100 different preferences.
Since there were so many people with so many varied and long suggestions
and criticisms, I had decided to make a few versions and have people vote
on a small concise list.
A survey is easier to manage than a list of criticisms and suggestions that
revolve around the idea of "I don't like it. I want something else. I don't
know what, but something else". This isn't helpful. What is helpful is a
specific suggestion or volunteering to help create it. I didn't have to
open it to the public, but I feel that getting ideas from more people would
give us something that we might not have thought of as well as the
community feeling like they participated in the process.
It seems like there are many that are in the category of "other". It would
be helpful if a specific suggestion was made and then I can make another
version. Perhaps even do another round of voting. As for no music, the
author said "No music makes no sense ... they can turn off the volume to
imagine that and save me the extra work!". Vote on one of the seven and
that's it. I'm not recording any votes for people manually. Just use the
Google Form and vote on one of the seven.
I'm the filter for all of this criticism from the public and the author and
I'm trying not to frustrate him as he did this pro bono. I didn't want too
many changes. It seems like he is getting frustrated and I don't want that.
He flatly refused to take out the sound and to have a 1541 drive sound
version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gnMgmlKi_o.
I do want to wrap this up quickly as I hadn't thought that this process
would take so long. I had hesitated to do it for this reason, but someone
convinced me to create one using vintage technology. It's holding up the
release of all the VCF East videos and I want to start getting those out.
Thanks everyone!
Jeff
