I know I'm getting to this email late. I love the idea to run a linux based camera system. Instead of moving to a Axis system I'd rather see you stay on the Linux system or move to a unifi protect system. the unifi protect now supports ONVIF cams so the existing cams should integrate nicely. The existing wyse cams might be able to record to both the linux based system and unifi protect but I would make sure they're in a vlan that can't talk to the internet so they can't phone home. The main reason I was thinking Unifi Protect is if you're thinking of a site hardening grant You could use both unifi protect for cams and unifi access for access control for not only buildings but also gates in the future. On deployment, it will record 16 cameras with a feature set very similar to the existing Wyse cameras. Initial deployment plan is for the cameras on the Diana site, and expanding the system as funding allows.
