Recommendation for a hot air rework station?
I'm looking to get a hot air rework station for the CDL. I don't need the best but I do want to get a decent station. Any recommendations? Is used a good idea or would it just be a good idea to get new? This was triggered by me having a Microbox II retro board order. Seems the parts are really fine like grains of ground pepper. I think I'm gonna need a bigger magnifier! ;-) -- Linux Home Automation Neil Cherry kd2zrq@linuxha.com http://www.linuxha.com/ Main site http://linuxha.blogspot.com/ My HA Blog Author of: Linux Smart Homes For Dummies KD2ZRQ

I have Aoyue 852A++ pro. Seems fine. Haven't had significant use of others so unknown how it compares. Got it in 2015 and hasn't failed yet. https://www.aoyue3d.com/en/pro/default.asp?id=55 On Tue, Feb 07, 2023 at 12:49:34PM -0500, Neil Cherry via vcf-midatlantic wrote:

I second this recommendation, they are surprisingly well built. Parts for maintenance are available. SRA Solder is a good source for Aoyue equipment and parts. -Dave On February 7, 2023 1:05:28 PM David Gesswein via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:
