Check this out: https://www.vintagecomputer.net/ibm/as400e/AS400e_620_on-trailer.png It's always fun to rescue a huge thing and as you're driving the trailer home you ask yourself, "what have I done?" Here it is inside, getting in was a Herculean task: https://www.vintagecomputer.net/ibm/as400e/AS400e_620.png Next - it takes 25 hard drives, I am going to scale that back, and the power to hopefully limit to less than 15 amps. OMG that thing is HUGE, the only thing I’ve ever done is rescue 2 Power Mac G5s, 1 Mac Pro (It was broken so I am building a hackintosh PC inside of the case with all new parts), an LC III (it had no hard drive and I couldn’t find a SCSI hard drive so I turned it into a giant raspberry pi case), and an Apple II+ that I am selling. It all fit into the back of a car though. On Wed, Apr 19, 2023 at 11:57 PM Bill Degnan via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

"HUGE"? You don't get out much, do you. ;) You should head over to LSSM at some point. We have functional individual machines that weigh in excess of a ton. -Dave On 4/20/23 06:55, Charlie's Computers via vcf-midatlantic wrote:

Nicely done. I know exactly how heavy those are...that was not a trivial thing to move. The 600-series machine out here has a large bank of lead-acid batteries in the base; does yours? -Dave On 4/20/23 09:17, Bill Degnan via vcf-midatlantic wrote:

If so, you may want to try to remove them sooner rather than later. The ones in ours had swollen and were wedged in place, and took some force to remove. -Dave On 4/20/23 09:20, Bill Degnan via vcf-midatlantic wrote:
