Discount code for VCF members for VCF East 2026
Hello! Indeed. I saw that. I also noted how much lower it was than the other ticketing entity we used before. ---- Gregg C Levine gregg.drwho8@gmail.com "This signature was once found posting rude messages in English in the Moscow subway." Thanks for calling my attention to the discount code. I am a member of this email list. "I can provide character references." Yet I did not receive a private message with the discount code for members (of the list), as suggested by the posted email content. I was about to buy the 3-day pass! I've sent an email to the "Please don't hestitate to contact" email address, using my registered email address, to request that code. I don't know if it's a private code per-member, or a single code for all members. This post is another way I'm asking for that code, to enter into the Humanitix site. - Regards Herbert Johnson
The code is provided to people who have donated as a “VCFed member” for a yearly membership. Hence why it looks like Mike omitted the code. It’s not for being a member of the list or the forum.. https://vcfed.org/membership/ Not confusing at all considering that the list, forums, festival, and museum have essentially been the same entity for almost ten years now, yet still somehow manages to be as fragmented as ever.. The point it looks like Mike is trying to make though to go back to the initial topic is that Humanitix is taking fees on ticket sales from the attendees and not the org. Every web ticketing system does this unfortunately. -Ian L. On Thu, Apr 9, 2026 at 17:33 Herb Johnson via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Ian, thanks for the explanation to me. Thanks also to Jeff Brace, who took time to contact me privately. Since I am not a "paid member through Vintage Computer Federation" I did not get that code. - regards Herb
Ian is correct. vcf-midatantic is a local email discussion list just means that you are a member of this list and can vote in steering committee elections. The Vintage Computer Federation Forum is separate software run by XenForo bulletin board software. It was originally run by Erik Klein decades ago using Vbulletin. Paid membership for VCF National applies to festivals that they run. The museum is part of the local MARCH group which is under Vintage Computer Federation. Mike, Yes. Right now. Members only get a 20% discount on VCF East, VCF West, VCF Montreal, but you must go through the registration system for each event. There are no other benefits at this time. Jeff

Hello Mike, It was my understanding that Humanitix charges 3.9% + $1.29 per ticket. That is the Non-profit rate. You should have been charged a fee of $3.08 instead of $4.10, which is a difference of $1.01. If you want, I will investigate to see why there is a discrepancy of $1 more than there should be. We had gone from EventBrite to Humanitix because the fees were less. This is the first time that I'm aware of there being any issue. After looking up the order and contacting Humanitix customer service a few times, they said that in your case there was an additional $1.29 fee since you used PayPal. PayPal charges this fee and is beyond the control of me or Humantix. So it isn't Humanitix charging 10%, they charge 3.9% + $1.29 per ticket, then PayPal adds $1.29. All services charge a fee of some kind. PayPal always charges a fee when doing business. When it it is Friends and Family, then there is no fee. Humanitix doesn't control the fees that PayPal charges. Here is the breakdown for a one day ticket with 20% VCF member discount: Ticket price: $46.00 Discount: -$9.20 Final amount paid: *$36.80* - $36.80 * 3.9% = $1.43 - $1.29 fixed fee + $1.43 - Total Booking fee = $2.72 Any additional amount on top of this is due to the PayPal surcharge. In this case, $1.38. Please note that the PayPal fee may vary depending on the user, their location, etc. On Fri, Apr 10, 2026 at 9:43 AM Sentrytv <sentrytv@yahoo.com> wrote:
