Looking for some blank/used/junk tapes - specifically 4mm DDS1 tapes. There was a whole box of 'em on the free pile at VCFMW but I didn't think I needed them at the time. Now I do. Doh. Also, speaking of tape, garage sale season is over, so my supply of blank audio cassettes has dried up. Anyone got any blank/used/junk cassettes they are looking to get rid of? -Ian

Festivus Wanted: DDR3

Anyone have any free used DDR 3 that they would part with? My "modern" PC is aging a whopping five years old ;) I have an Dell Alienware Aurora R2 which takes 2-channel DDR3. The Capacities are 1GB, 2GB, 4GB. I have two 2GB sticks in there now with two slots free. Speccy says that they are at 668Mhz even though the specs say 1066 MHz or I333 Mhz can work in my machine. Looking to add at least 2 - 2GB sticks. If not free, then maybe a low cost? Or a place that sells them cheap? -- Jeff Brace - ark72axow(a)gmail.com

Getting things together for Festivus. I was originally planning on bringing a stereo amplifier and speakers as I always do, but, is there really a need for that this year, since we won't be running movies? Would save me some space in the car if we don't really need it. -Ian

FS: TRS-80 Model 1 with Monitor, Expansion Unit, Disk Drive

All, I've got a TRS-80 Model 1 from the Philly purchase. I had time today to set it up and power it on. It comes up into BASIC, responds properly to BASIC commands/keyboard works. No further testing done at the moment, I don't know much about TRS-80s aside from the Model 100. I've got the matching expansion unit, B&W monitor, and a 5.25" disk drive which claims to have a Shugart SA-400 inside. The expansion interface appears to have the RS-232 card installed. Power supply is of course built into the expansion interface, I don't have a separate one. The keyboard is missing the ?/ key, immediately to the left of the right shift key. Looks like the expansion interface is the expensive bit to this. Open to offers, I have nothing to go on for pricing except closed eBay listings. Prefer to bring to Festivus, of course. I'll see if any of the odds n ends go with it, I may have disks. Thanks, Jonathan

PDP 8i's (10 yes 10 of them)

Guys, Tomorrow I plan to go to the family's house who owns 10 PDP 8i's. I don't want one just so you know, but I am hoping to find a good home for them. I mentioned the VCFed museum, etc. when I visited them last time to see if they'd donate one, but they want $$ for these. I am thinking they may have an inflated idea of their value. Here is a picture set: http://www.vintagecomputer.net/pictures/2016/PDP8i/ The tape units are not DEC, they look like IBMs. They're is not returning my emails so I am going to pay them a visit to see what's what with these machines, on my way to festivus. He lives in the NJ pine barons near my old High school home town, Medford NJ. Anyhoo...if I don't show up at the festivus now you know why. What I need from you all BEFORE Saturday morning 1) Show of hands for anyone interested in a complete PDP 8i system (each is three full sized rack cabinets) 2) What would you pay for such a thing, assuming you had to rent a truck, move the racks into your truck, etc. Look at the condition closely, these ain't new. I want to take these informal offers info to these people to see if I can get him to budge. I am looking for honest offers given the circumstances. Although I don't mind discussing this publicly feel free to send to me serious offers privately via vintagecomputer.net/contact.cfm. I will print the forms and deliver to the owner. If there are less than 10 offers I will discuss some sort "how do we part a few of these out" deals. Bill
