About 15 people came this month. Lots of interesting stuff repaired. Ian was able to fix the museum Xerox by swapping out a video board from our spare Xerox. So now it is working in the museum. I know that Jeff Salzman worked on testing out Commodore 64 related hardware. It was a special treat to see him use Magic Voice, a voice synthesizer for the C64. What I didn't know, but he did, was that Commodore made cartridges such as Gorf and Wizard of War will have voice enabled when you plug them into the Magic Voice! They resemble the arcade versions. Maybe others can fill in what they worked on. Keep the lights on at InfoAge (GoFundMe fundraiser)

Vintage Computer Federation has initiated a fundraiser for InfoAge operating expenses. As with many museums across the country InfoAge was hit hard by lower visitor numbers, yet the expenses keep coming. For those that don't know, VCF leases space for our museum and warehouse from InfoAge. So we are looking to help them as it benefits us and all the other museums under the InfoAge umbrella to stay in business. Our doors stay open as a result of the volunteers' efforts, the donations made by visitors to InfoAge, as well as grants and other fundraising efforts. As you can imagine, the long closures, limited capacity and public concerns that have come as a result of COVID-19 have seriously hurt our ability to raise money and continue to maintain and improve the Camp Evans Historical Landmark Site and the museums that occupy it's spaces. Starting with the resident non-profits, we are pooling our resources to keep the doors to our home here at Camp Evans/InfoAge open and continue to share this wonderful place with the public. Another successful repair workshop 3/6 & 3/7 2021

So about 15 people showed up to the repair workshop. Most were in the CDL building and the rest were in 9032-A, the museum and the warehouse. Ian was able to repair the Xerox in the museum by swapping out a board from another Xerox. He will try to repair the original board later. In addition Ian fixed a number of other items that hopefully he will mention here. Jeff Salzman tested all sorts of Commodore hardware which was fun watching especially him using the Magic Voice hardware and then realizing that Gor and Wizard of War both had digitized voices when the cartridges were plugged into the Magic Voice. Sounded just like the arcade versions. Jason Perkins tested and fixed the Diablo printer as well as a Apple Profile. Dmitry had success at the very end of the workshop, but I don't remember what he was working on. Corey and I started prototyping a new backdrop for the artifact carts that I hope everyone will like. Can everyone else chime in on what they were working on? Next event is the swap meet & repair workshop on April 24. Repair Workshop Report 2021-02-06 & 07

Sorry for the late report, but been busy the last few weeks. This is from last month's repair workshop. So Saturday 2/6 we had about 10 to 15 people come. Lots of great stuff got accomplished. Dean worked on the TRS-80 Model 1 and will be installing a Gotek into it during the next repair workshop. Andy recorded some great video with Bill Dromgoole on the Univac. This was one of the best workshops, but I didn't write down all the details. Maybe others can fill in what we did last month. Sunday 2/7 was a lot less people because of the snowstorm, but 4 brave souls rode out the storm before returning home. I was able to count and fold all the t-shirts and polos so they will be for sale at the VCF Swap Meet on April 24.
