Total Solar Eclipse and VCF East 2024

It has been brought to my attention that there may be a significant number of people that will be traveling to see the total solar eclipse which takes place on April 8 and some will be skipping VCF East. VCF East is scheduled for April 5, 6, 7, 2024 @ InfoAge. The total solar eclipse in the US is a rare event and the next one is in 2044. I already saw the last one in 2018 in Smithville, TN, so I don't need to see another. It was quite an interesting experience. I'd be curious to know what all of you feel about whether you would attend or not based on this information. It's not too late to change the dates, but I would need to figure it out within the next few weeks. Please let me know either in this thread or private mail about your attendance of VCF East or the solar eclipse. Thanks!

Help with Apple //e repair in Phoenix

Someone contacted VCF via a comment on our blog. They live in Phoenix. So I suggested that they post on the VCF Forum for help. No luck. I suggested cctalk, but they are having trouble with that as well. I know that most of us are local, but is there anyone on this list in that area? If so, then I will send you their email address. One, according to Knappen, holds 1,000 walnut boxes for vintage wall phones. Another is used to store 1,000 steel desk phones."

I did a write up of the donation to Kennett Classic this weekend, of a rare Cramer "cramerkit" https://www.kennettclassic.com/1975-cramer-intel-8080a-microcomputer/ This is an excellent view into what was happening in 1975/76. It was just about the same time as the Apple I was just getting started. The microprocessor was just becoming available and many companies were jumping into the new microcomputer business. Bill

OT / Bonding and grounding equipment for the Diana Site

I left the box with the EMP/NEMP network cable suppressors, lugs, and #6 wire on the front bench by the computer. Will bring down my hydraulic burndy crimper to install the Burndy lugs on the #6 wire. Will be deploying them next Saturday around 12:00, and migrating the Diana site to the new data switch, along with replacing the display computers and one of the mounts. Extra hands are welcome, please reply off list to keep the list chatter down. Martin Flynn
