Anyone have a pointer to Networking class material?

Interesting discussion came up on the Fujinet channel about networking. I'd like to toss together a class on networking. This is not for VCF East 2024. I can get my hands on a sniffer,switches, FWs, cables, clients and servers. And I might be able to teach it. I've got a lot of 'stuff' (be nice) in my head. Unfortunately I need to keep it short but need to cover some basics Stack TCP/IP UDP connection connectionless Bridges Routers FW NAT Wireshark No VLANS (but the switch will use them internally), no IPv6, no RTP, no QoS, etc. I'll need to find my older Comer networking book. TO ALL ON THIS LIST: GREAT REASONS TO GET INVOLVED WITH OUR VCF Computing History Museum and Learning Center at InfoAge THIS YEAR: 1. You get to hang around the great equipment in the museum and learn vintage computing tech that you likely can't get your hands on anywhere else. 2. You can repair our machines in our new exclusive repair lab- - very much like coming to a private workshop. 3. You can help improve the demonstrations and activities of the exhibits - very much like working some amazing VCF exhibit 4. You can help create new exhibits for hand-on activity experiences - if you like building electronic projects 5. You can show people around the museum and tell them interesting historical facts, do demonstrations. It is very rewarding! - very much like being a celebrity at VCF There is no minimum amount of participation- weekly, monthly, quarterly or on call to cover when we have a critical staff need- whatever you can do! Or if you can't come to Info Age at all, we can give you something to do at home. I recommend teaming up with a local friend when you come to the museum to make it even more fun. We can likely help defray traveling costs too. I've been working this effort for over a year with a small dedicated crew. We have made good progress but need a lot more in this year. Almost new Mac Plus

Hello: I have a lightly-used Mac Plus in original packaging which I want to exchange for 2 Friday entry admissions to the April Wall exhibition. I would bring the computer with me, so absolutely no cost. Computer probably needs a recap and floppy drive lubrication to get working. Would anyone like to give this computer a good home? Macintosh Plus/512K for cheap?

Now that the FujiNet project has a prototype board for the early Macintosh I'd like to get involved in testing/developing on it more. However, I currently only have a Macintosh SE which is newer than the initial target for the FujiNet & thus not a great test candidate. Does anyone have an older Macintosh Plus or 512K (not the 512Ke, I don't think) that they'd like to part with inexpensively? I don't care as much about the keyboard & mouse as I think I can get adapters to make a PS/2 keyboard/mouse work. I'm up for something that needs some minor repairs (eg, caps, solder joints, minor troubleshooting, etc.) but I don't have much money to spend on it (eg, <$100). I'm in the Philadelphia area so I can either pick up locally or we can meet at a VCF repair day at InfoAge. Thanks in advance. -- - Benjamin Krein
