Consider a "did you feel it?" report to USGS. Be aware of the TIME you felt "it", there were/are multiple events. Be aware of an address where you were, or you can report "use current location" if still there. https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/tellus That page will have a "felt report - tell us!" window. That brings up a Q & A of simple questions including time, your location, and contact info for you. Building size, your floor, what you did. A freeform section lets you add comments. Didn’t feel a thing, I’m in eastern Massachusetts near Boston. I got tons of notifications about the quake on my Apple Watch though! original Compaq MS DOS 1.1 for the Portable?

Does anyone have an original copy of Compaq's MS DOS 1.1 for the Portable? Just curious what the label looked like. Wikipedia says (which may not be true I know) that the original Compaq portables shipped with Compaq MS DOS 1.1. I wonder if there was a splash screen or anything unique about it. Bill

Anyone going to VCF later going to RICM?

Hi all, I have some PDP-8/E ECRM boards that I want to donate to the RICM (and they have indicated they want them). I was wondering if anyone going to VCF might go later go the RICM in the future? Update on my quest to get files off my old cell phones: I tried emulation and unfortunately on Macs with Apple silicon processors there’s no easy way to do any sort of file sharing even though I was able to get XP up and running (using something called UTM.) I considered setting up the Windows 10 PC I still have and trying there, or setting up one of the older Macs with Intel processors that I have, but ultimately (as many have suggested on here) using an actual Windows XP computer will be the quickest and easiest route for me. I posted a request on FaceBook and a friend already offered a machine. Thanks for all the input. - Bob Shuster

Hello everyone, I have some bad news and some good news. Due to an error on my part I sent the wrong file for the t-shirts. It was a draft drawing instead of the final drawing. OT: accessing files on a Windows Mobile 2003 phone

I dug out a box of old cellphones yesterday, and the first ones I grabbed were Audiovox “smart” phones that have Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition on them (version 4.21.1088) and amazingly the batteries still hold a charge *and* they still have some data on them that I’d like to copy over before giving these away. Does anyone know how I might access the files on these? They have both Bluetooth and USB (mini-B.) I can connect to a modern Mac but while the device connects I cannot access the file system on the phone. I do not have easy access to a Windows computer. Any thoughts? Will these just show up if I connect to a Windows 10/11 computer? Also, these will be available for free should anyone have a use for them. There are like a dozen phones and associated chargers/cases. I need to go through them first and reset and/or at least remove SIM cards. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks - Bob Shuster
