Swap Meet in Maryland - May 2nd and 3rd

The Computer Museum at System Source is hosting a swap meet and warehouse sale on May 2nd and 3rd in Hunt Valley, Maryland. During this event, we will have the warehouse open for people to purchase some of our duplicate artifacts, and help us clear some space. The swap meet will begin at 8:00 AM on May 2nd and vendors may come at 7:00 AM to set up. The swap meet ends at 1:00 PM and food will be sold on site. The workshop will be from the end of the swap meet until 9:00 on Saturday and from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Sunday. If there is a rain delay, we will make an announcement 48 hours before the start of the event. After the swap meet, there will be a regular computer workshop in the museum. Apple TimeMaster

Restarting this thread without the Digest stuff clogging it up. I know next to nothing about these, but it appears they did not come with drivers, but instead came with an on-board ROM and the install procedure is to flip Dip switch 1 to the on position to initialize the card on the first boot, then flip it off to use. Apple II - TimeMaster (1?) Card

So I'm trying hard to get some of my crap working for VCF and silly me picked up an Applied Engineering TimeMaster clock card for my Apple II, really because a piece of software I'm hopefully showing off used it (and I found the orig manual to it, which may or may not be available online). That said, I have no software, and now realizing that, well, I can't set the time on the thing. I may be able to dump the rom and find a way to set it manually I guess via pokes somehow, but I'm not an Apple II expert at all (although having fun with it). Does anyone happen to have the software to this? Note that this is NOT the "H.O" card; I tried the software for that, and naturally it doesn't work as it tries to detect the card. Jeff

Tracy Kidder, author of "The Soul of a New Machine", dead at 80

Some list members surely remember--and may have been profoundly influenced by--reading "The Soul of a New Machine" (1981) by Tracy Kidder. It influenced me. Tracy died this past week at 80. His book won the 1982 National Book Award for Nonfiction and a Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction, and was about two competing Data General 32-bit minicomputer design groups in the 1970's developing machines to challenge DEC's VAX minicomputers. It's an enthralling read.
