Honeywell Engineer needs floppy disk help

Got a phone call today from an engineer at Honeywell Aerospace. Anyone interested in helping him troubleshoot over the phone? He lives in Arizona. Here is what he said: “ - There is a 5-1/4” floppy diskette created in 1995 that can no longer be read by the Honeywell designed equipment. - We found one 5-1/4” floppy diskette from our Test Group that works in the Honeywell designed equipment. - We need to make additional copies of the working 5-1/4” floppy diskette. It contains one executable file on it. - We have tried making copies, on an IBM Compatible PC from 1995, but the floppy disk doesn’t work in the Honeywell designed equipment. - It looks like the disk is being read by the Honeywell designed equipment but after a few seconds from reading the disk the system fail light turns on. - We would like your help to see if we can make a working copy from the original 199X created Floppy Disk. ”

I signed up and started a sheet of items I know I'm bringing. I know there is a "wanted" spreadsheet but don't see a lot of activity. Is anyone looking for anything in particular? I have a closet full of floppy drives. Assorted MFM/RLL hard drives (of unknown veracity, but will let go cheap). Oodles of ISA cards (Sound, network, serial, video, other...) Anyone specifically looking for a Tandy Model 2000 computer, minus monitor? How about a complete Model 600 (I would want $75 for this). NB this is a 600, not a 6000. They're pretty rare. Going through a bin of USB cables I came across some cables with connectors that I don’t recognize. They’re numbered 1, 2, and 3 in the photo. Each has a USB-A male connector on the other end, and I have a second cable with the #3 connector that has white and yellow RCA male connectors (mono audio and video?) The #3 cables also each have a ferrite choke on them. They are not USB mini-B. As Curt was a valued member of this group, I am posting this here. They are not subscribed to this list, so I will be passing along any replies. As with any previous discussion, please keep this respectful and do not ask or contact the family or ask about items not directly related to this. The proceeds will directly benefit his family, and the idea is to help them out with the sale of these items. All items will need to be collected from NY as is, without assistance and consider this as a package deal only. Reasonable offers are being accepted for this. DEC AlphaStation 200 won't boot

I got my hands on a DEC AlphaStation 200 4/233 and it won't boot. The lights repeat and when I look at the light codes and compare to the documentatio. Anyone looking for a microfiche reader?

A potential donor has asked if we know anyone who could use a microfiche machine. If anyone is interested, it will be delivered to VCF at some point in the coming weeks, but I would asked that it be picked up asap after we get it (everyone is well aware of our space issues.) Thanks! - Dean

Walter Shawlee II, as he said to tell the world, died with stunning inconvenience. More specifically, he passed away in Kelowna, BC, on September 4, 2023. Born in LA to Hollywood actress Joan Shawlee and artist Walter Shawlee, he is survived by his wife Susan, daughter Rosanne, son Walt, sister Angie, and niece Sydney.

Hey all, Sorry to bother, but I recently won an eBay auction for a pretty decent 10G Ethernet switch (1U, nothing terribly big) without realizing it was local pickup only, and the seller is in NYC near Washington Square Park and I am in Maryland. I hate to presume, but I know we have a few NYC folks here and I was wondering if I could persuade someone to do the pickup and either ship it to me or bring it to The Event Formerly Known As Festivus (will be glad to compensate for your time as well, especially since I know space tends to be at a premium in the city)? On the job hunt - any suggestions?

As my health is improving I'm finally getting back into the saddle for my job hunt, though I'm having poor luck getting responses to my applications. Does anyone here have recommendations? I have a bachelor's in computer science, and have been programming for about 11 years now. I know Java, C, Python, COBOL, Lua, SQL, and a bit of Lisp and PROLOG (if there are jobs hiring PROLOG programmers in 2023, then color me surprised!). If it's an in-office position, then I'd hope for something near central NJ - I'm about 20 minutes away from Infoage. I can't move for work, though I can do travel. Of course, remote work would also be accepted. Other tech jobs are welcome - I can't be on my feet very much due to some congenital issues, but I'm very open to learning new skillsets. I've also got to balance this with my position/responsibilities as VCF warehouse manager, though I'm sure I could make it work. Thanks in advance! -Thomas G.
