VCF East 2020 - hotels

Format of SAVE'd programs on disk

I’ve been doing a lot with the Microsoft 6502 source code and one of the capabilities I’ve added is being able to SAVE/LOAD from an SD card. All of the variants of that BASIC save and load tokenized programs. That is, the SAVE function saves the current BASIC program exactly as it appears in memory, with tokens and some ASCII data. All of the early versions of MS BASIC did not support disk operations directly and any disk code was added later by the computer manufacturer who incorporated the MS interpreter into their systems. Jump forward a couple years when Microsoft directly supported CP/M so that the underlying disk code could be standardized. When a SAVE “ABC.BAS” command was executed, was the program saved tokenized still, or was it saved as all ASCII like the LIST command would produce? Someone could then edit BASIC programs using a text editor and be able to read them back in, as opposed to having binary files that could only be edited from within BASIC itself. I’m just wondering if it’s worth my effort to add the capability to save/load ASCII or just be happy with my tokenized version. I’m interested to know what Microsoft did in later versions of their interpreter. Bob

I have done a little more investigation. To pass diagnostics the machine needs Ethernet connected. Do you have a MAU/AUI to 10 base-t transceiver? I can bring one. There were three operating enviornments for it. Do you know what was installed on it and usernames/passwords? Do you know what you want to run in the museum? Keep it as last used if possible or did you desire something in particular? I got copies for my emulator of Viewpoint, XDE 5.0, and the Koto release of Interlisp-D for use in testing. Are their more people who are planning to work on it? I've played slightly with the DarkStar emulator to have some feel for it but have never seen one in person. Dataphone cabinet/Communications rack

Hi All, I have a Dataphone cabinet/communications rack free for the taking. It is currently in my garage where it has been for the last 30 years but since I am moving out of state it has to go. If if is not gone by Friday 1/24 it will wind up on the scrap heap. I am located in Towaco in Morris County in Northern, NJ,. VCF Sticker Ideas?

I am looking into selling stickers at VCF East. Now what kinds of stickers would most people actually buy? For example: VCF logo, would you buy it? Are there other simple things that we can put on there that are readable?
